Sponsored by Concept Searching with special guest speakers Bart Hall, Director – Research and Methods, and Tim Presecky, Data Platforms Coordinator, from Brailsford & Dunlavey
Brailsford & Dunlavey has earned a reputation as a premier national program management firm, and provides program management services in the AEC sector and for higher education, K-12, business and industry, and government clients. It offers comprehensive services, ranging from planning through implementation, manages all areas of risk, and maintains constant control of budget, schedule, and quality.
The firm’s goal was to update its SharePoint 2010 intranet, to refresh an out-of-the-box design and to mine an immense amount of data, to enhance findability of its content and provide staff with easily accessible data. The existing intranet lacked a clear governance structure, effective information architecture, and mobile accessibility. With nearly 70,000 documents and more than 8,000 list items on its intranet, and another 200,000 on its client portal, Brailsford & Dunlavey needed a way to make intranet content significantly more accessible to employees across several national offices.
The redeveloped and redesigned intranet was implemented with responsive design, to encourage the highly mobile workforce to access the site from anywhere. The intranet’s new, intuitive design reflects the look and feel of Brailsford & Dunlavey’s public facing website, and the refreshed information architecture has provided a clear path to find important information.
