Visionaries or Perhaps a Bit Daft?
I read quite a bit on the progress of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI), both positive and negative. I vacillate between whether organizations that have embarked on such projects are visionaries or crazy. But these areas will never progress without organizations investing their time, effort, and money. So kudos to the visionaries.
The AI Index estimates that a modern machine’s capacity for common-sense reasoning is far less than that of a five-year-old child. Well now, isn’t that promising. Abundant information – accurate data – must be available for the development of reasoning, common sense, and problem solving. Just like a child, who gets inoculated and educated on your values and beliefs, your family culture, and a host of other variables that are uniquely yours.
Access to abundant data isn’t going to be found in an off-the-shelf package, although vendors will have you believe they have the best thing since sliced bread. It is the visionaries’ Achille’s heel. The bottom line is quality data and a copious amount of it.
While you’re waiting for your project to progress, there are day-to-day operations that need to be addressed. Our conceptClassifier platform delivers a great deal of the value of an ML or an AI project, pretty much out of the box. As a technology framework, it can be extended to solve a whole host of business problems.
Such as what? Well, avoiding data breaches in real time, enabling semantic contextual search, content optimization, intelligent migration, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and data discovery and classification, to name but a few.
All the benefits, without the wait. I think you’ll be surprised at what you can achieve, and quickly. Feel free to request a demo. It never hurts to kick the tires.
