Compliance within the Public Sector

Compliance often crosses city, state, federal, and global borders and organizations can be subject to multiple governments, laws, regulations, and even contractual obligations. For each scenario, the organization must understand how they conduct business, how they report business, and when to know they are noncompliant. Often, it is left to the end user to correctly tag content in alignment with compliance standards and requirements. Concept Searching provides the technologies to proactively avoid a noncompliance infraction and eliminate the potential repercussions.

    Flexible Rules Based Compliance

    Real-time Proactive Identification

    Automated workflow notification

The US Government has a plethora of compliance rules ranging from disposal of hazardous materials to homeland security. Compliance with all mandates is often complicated and resource intensive. The missing piece is usually trusted and accurate information to either ensure compliance or identify infractions to policies. Concept Searching can do both. Using conceptTaxonomyWorkflow compliance rules can be used to easily define the policy and then find trusted information and the infractions. This serves as an audit trail and provides the ability to quickly and easily locate where compliance infractions exist and fix them.

    Key Benefits

Eliminating end user tagging, the easy to use technology, enables the organization to create rules that consist of descriptors and multi-word terms (concepts) that are associated with a compliance requirement. When content is indexed it identifies the potential infraction and automatically routes the information to the appropriate staff member, and can prohibit access to the record until it has been corrected. In the SharePoint environment, once an infraction has been identified it will automatically change the Content Type and provide a list of descriptors that flag the record for verification.
