Engineering Search – Hard to Implement? No, it isn’t.
Our previous blogs talked about our new solution for secure, enterprise-wide Engineering Search. Our second blog in this series focused on what it actually does. Today we are going to examine what it does in more detail. Again, not a vendor pitch, just a really ground breaking solution that, as far as we know, didn’t exist before now. Please watch our demo here.
Using multi-term metadata generation, auto-classification and taxonomy tools, the solution delivers all the content that has been collected from any systems that an engineer would need, with the technologies respecting the inherent security of all linked repositories.
The user is presented with a visual preview, and a navigation panel shows nodes in the taxonomy that are related to the search criteria. The navigational panel also shows similar or inter-related terms in the corpus of information, even if the search words were not found. We call this delivering intelligent content in context.
The ability to automatically generate metadata enables an enterprise metadata repository to be developed that allows all content to be classified against one or more taxonomies. This fulfills the promise of the digital workplace to deliver the most relevant and precise information, to the right person, at the right time.
Take a minute and watch the demo. This solution doesn’t only apply to engineering. If you could benefit from this type of search, reach out and let us know.
