Did You Under Estimate SharePoint Costs?
I just read an interesting article by Kurt Mackie in the Redmond Channel Partner, ‘SharePoint Costs More Than Organizations Realize, Study Finds’. The survey was sponsored by Microsoft national systems integrator (NSI) partner Azaleos Corp and conducted by Osterman Research.
From the article 67% of respondents overall were happy with SharePoint, although 30% said SharePoint had either no impact, a doubtful impact or just made things worse. The key findings regarding the planned costs found that unexpected issues such as increased storage requirements, low staffing levels, and poor planning arose. The article is worth a read.
If you’ve deployed and are using SharePoint, did you get what you bargained for?
