Consumer Product Safety Commission Deploys Concept Searching
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) had a challenge to improve search on their external web site. They have deployed Concept Searching technologies and the external facing website is now being used for the general public to identify product safety issues.
This is a good example of our out-of-the-box interface with no customization.Using the search term ‘coffee makers’ will return only documents with the word coffee and makers, either as single words or meta tagged as a concept (coffee makers) . On the right hand side Products, Hazards, and Content Types are nodes within the taxonomy that were selected to aid in the search criteria. If you refine on Hazards…Burns all the documents that are related to coffee makers and burns are returned. Additional refinement results can be achieved through selection of Content Types…Recalls. You will notice that recalls related to espresso maker, cappuccino makers, and carafe recalls are also included at the end of the results with a lower percentage rating. These were returned because they contained coffee and recalls and were related as additional documents representing the same concept.
