Agility or Cost Reduction – What Are Your Goals for Cloud Adoption?
In Accenture’s 2015 Enterprise Cloud Report, the top reason organizations are adopting the cloud is to achieve agility.
- In its use of the term, the definition would be “the ability to think and draw conclusions quickly; intellectual acuity”. Hmmm, I am not sure I associate cloud adoption with agility, at least it doesn’t pop into my mind as the first benefit.
The report goes on to note that 52% of organizations that adopted the cloud have achieved their objectives.
The whole list, in order of priorities is:
- Reduced expenses
- Customer experience
- Capital expenditure change
The warm and fuzzy goals were:
All from cloud adoption. I am amazed. No seriously, these are lofty goals and I assume there are legitimate strategies on how to tactically achieve them.
On the other hand, according to our SharePoint and Office 365 State of the Market Survey Results, the top goals were connectivity and reduced expenses. I guess SharePoint organizations are a bit more practical.
