New Feature Provides Highly Granular Selection and Omission of Documents to Improve Classification
McLean, VA, US and Stevenage, UK –August 11, 2015
Concept Searching, the global leader in semantic metadata generation, auto-classification, and taxonomy management software, and developer of the Smart Content Framework™, has announced general availability of working sets in its product conceptTaxonomyManager.
Working sets enable administrators, taxonomists, and subject matter experts to tune the rules within conceptTaxonomyManager, in order to include or exclude certain documents. This is to ensure that false positive do not get classified, and elite documents do get classified. The option to add or remove a document from a working set is also provided. Each term can have a set of documents associated with it for testing purposes.
Using a unique feature in conceptTaxonomyManager, ‘show document movement feedback’, in conjunction with the working sets, visually shows the cause and effect of the changes without re-indexing. Many of Concept Searching’s clients have millions of documents, and the ability to see these changes without re-indexing is a significant benefit, saving time, and increasing productivity and the accuracy of the classification process. Within conceptTaxonomyManager, administrators have access to a calculations link that shows why a document received the score it did, how many times the terms appeared in the document, and additional information, to provide an understanding of the classification and provide the ability to change the score.
“The working set feature within conceptTaxonomyManager provides an additional level of granularity for taxonomy managers to improve the classification of content. Rather than using the ‘show documents movement feedback’ feature with a large set of documents, the feature enables managers to pick and choose the documents that should be placed in the working set. For those organizations that need highly accurate classification or similar terms to be differentiated, this feature enables taxonomy managers to work with a relevant subset of documents, see the consequences of the scoring changes, and not need to re-index,” said John Challis, CEO and CTO of Concept Searching.
conceptTaxonomyManager provides features not available in other taxonomy products, and is able to significantly reduce the time it takes to build, deploy, and manage taxonomies. Since the product is platform agnostic, and available in on-premises, hybrid, or cloud environments, it has become the product of choice for organizations seeking to manage their unstructured and semi-structured content. It was designed for the subject matter experts, and provides a wealth of interactive features to test and tune taxonomies, to obtain high precision and high recall, which are highly difficult to achieve.
